Windsong Mobile Mammography Screening at Walden Galleria
— State-of-the-art 3D breast cancer services available for women at WNY’s largest shopping center —
Buffalo, NY: While early detection of breast cancer is saving lives, many women have little time or barriers that make it difficult to get screened. To remove this challenge, Windsong Radiology has continued its partnership with Walden Galleria to provide its Mobile Mammography service to women in the community. Extra measures are being taken to keep women safe, with mandatory temperature taking and social distancing. Women who are due for a screening mammogram can schedule their appointment for Friday, August 28th when Windsong’s mobile mammography unit will be located in Walden Galleria’s parking lot between Macy’s and World of Beer from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
For your safety, Windsong is taking all necessary safety steps. Masks are required, and temperature checks are done upon arrival. Also Windsong will be sanitizing the unit and mammography equipment between each appointment.
Women are reminded that a prescription from their doctor is required. For those women that don’t have a script and have not seen a doctor recently, Windsong’s Physician Assistant will be on board the mobile unit providing clinical breast exams and mammogram scripts that same day. The mobile unit can also help women with transportation, wheelchair accessibility, translation services and link those who do not have insurance to ensure an exam at no cost.

The ‘Windsong Mobile Mammo’ unit provides women the same quality that is offered at Windsong’s brick and mortar locations – 3D mammography or digital breast tomosynthesis – a state of the art technology that has proven to detect smaller cancers earlier, when they are easier to treat.
To date, over 5,000 women have completed their breast cancer screening on Windsong’s Mobile Mammo thanks to many partners throughout Western New York who are equally dedicated to removing barriers to access.
